ANNUAL MARATHON OF ONE ACT-PLAYS "The Marathon makes for spectacular fireworks."- John Patrick Shanley "Indispensible" - Steve Martin EST enjoys worldwide recognition for its Marathon of One-Act Plays, in which, over a period of six weeks, twelve one-acts receive their New York premieres. With the advent of the Marathon, EST restored the one-act form to its rightful place in theatre liturature. Since its inception in 1978, the Marathon has featured new short works by such noted playwrights as Leslie Ayvasian, Christopher Durang, Horton Foote, Richard Greenberg, David Ives, Michael John LaChiusa, David Mamet, Steve Martin, Arthur Miller, Joyce Carol Oates, Paul Rudnick, John Patrick Shanley, Wendy Wasserstein and Tennessee Williams. ![]() MARATHON 2000 The 23rd Annual Festival of New One-Act Plays SCHEDULE SERIES A : May 3rd - May 14th SERIES B : May 17th - May 28th SERIES C : May 31st - June 11th ![]() Performances are Mon, Wed-Sat at 7:30 P.M.
